ALETRIS services include:

Naturopathic Medicine

In the state of Arizona, naturopathic doctors are primary care physicians, or PCPs, which means we see patients for annual physical exams and bloodwork, manage PAP exams and breast health, and treat a wide variety of acute and chronic complaints. Naturopathy is a distinctive approach to health and healing that recognizes and celebrates the integrity of the individual. Naturopathic medicine emphasizes the treatment of disease through the stimulation, enhancement, and support of the inherent healing capacity of the person. Methods of naturopathic treatment include diet modification, nutritional supplementation, chelation therapy, exercise science, botanical medicine, homeopathy, counseling, and primary care and preventative medicine. The practice of naturopathy emerges from six underlying principles of healing which are based on the objective observation of the nature of health and disease, and are continually reexamined in light of scientific analysis. Although naturopathic physicians have DEA numbers and can prescribe prescription medications, we use western drugs only when appropriate. ALETRIS’ naturopaths treat the underlying cause of disease to move patients toward optimal health and wellness.

Natural Hormone Therapy

At ALETRIS, hormone therapy is an art. Our ultimate goal is to determine and correct the underlying cause of each patient’s hormonal imbalance. Because each individual experiences a unique combination of hormone symptoms, we begin our approach to bio-identical hormone replacement (also called bio-identical hormone therapy or natural hormone therapy) by evaluating each patient’s individual symptom picture. Using comprehensive saliva hormone testing and bloodwork, we then measure thyroid hormones, adrenal hormones (cortisol and DHEA) and sex hormones (testosterone, progesterone, estradiol and DHEA), and we assess lifestyle factors such as diet, stress, and activity levels which are vital to hormone health. From there, we develop a customized hormone treatment plan which may include several different modes of therapy– from diet and herbal tinctures to natural hormone therapy.

Preventative Medicine

ALETRIS embraces the advancement and utilization of technology to detect, prevent, and treat age-related disease, and we promote research to optimize the human aging process. We believe that the many disabilities associated with “normal aging” are actually ameliorable to alternative medical treatment and clean, healthy living. Essentially, the human life span can be lengthened and the quality of life can be much improved when the appropriate preventative measures are taken. We encourage each patient to make the necessary lifestyle changes to prevent cancer, cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis.

Women’s Medicine

At ALETRIS, Women’s health is our passion. We treat many common female conditions and complaints, including polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), PMS, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, weight gain, breast lumps, constipation, menopause, abnormal PAPs, acne, osteoporosis and hypothyroidism. We believe that every woman is different, and every woman deserves individualized naturopathic care to reach her own state of optimal health.

Intramuscular Injection Therapies

Injections of B12 and other B vitamins are long acting and help the body achieve higher levels faster than oral supplementation. In addition, by bypassing intestinal absorption, we can overcome barriers presented by certain drugs or metabolic conditions. Within as little as 2 hours and for up to 2 weeks after a B vitamin injection, patients report they feel more energy and uplifted, with an increased sense of well-being. We have found that patients often respond well to a series of six to twelve shots to bring them up to a healthy baseline. After that point, your doctor will advise you whether continued oral supplementation is indicated.

Chiropractic Medicine

Chiropractic is often pursued by those seeking alternative health care for acute and chronic conditions. A broad range of techniques are used to locate, analyze and gently restore joint mobility in the spine. The goal of chiropractic is to optimize health with a non-invasive alternative approach that does not use drugs or surgery.

Chiropractic can help patients with acute or chronic conditions, including headaches, neck pain, sciatica and improper function of the nervous system that may result from car accidents, sports injuries, work injuries and other causes. Because chiropractic healthcare is holistic healthcare, patients look to chiropractors for general wellness, too. In fact, preventive healthcare is among the fastest growing areas of chiropractic care.

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

The Eastern approach to health and healing is a powerful one. When administered by a licensed acupuncturist and combined with both natural and conventional medicine, acupuncture can be even more effective at handing many acute and chronic issues. Acupuncture treatment may include moxibustion, cupping and tuina depending on each individual’s needs. ALETRIS patients may choose to pursue treatment from an Eastern-only approach, or may decide to combine the best of naturopathic medicine and acupuncture for a multi-faceted treatment.

Acupuncture focuses on supporting and building qi, the energy that brings health and wellness in an individual. From a Western perspective, acupuncture will boost the immune system, regulate hormones, relieve anxiety, and eliminate pain. Acupuncture needles are not hollow, like conventional needles. They are not meant to draw blood, and thus they move through tissue without cutting it.

Acupuncture can be used to treat specific diseases, imbalances, or pain, or it can be used as a form of wellness support. At ALETRIS, we believe that supporting health is as important as fighting disease. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine is the preferred method for many of our patients. visit our acupuncture site >

Diagnostic Tools

Accurate diagnosis is critical to effective treatment. ALETRIS naturopaths may use any combination of specialty bloodwork, saliva hormone testing, urine toxic metal analysis, iodine uptake analysis, ultrasound, MRI, cardiovascular imaging, mammography and breast thermography (thermogram) to properly assess each patient’s individual condition. Once the underlying cause of each issue is examined, customized treatment moves the patient toward optimal health.
